When she was growing up, she was always dreaming dreams and scheming schemes, creating a wonderful world within her imagination where she could live. It was a world which was so much more vivid and alive than the one she saw around her. She grew up, married, studied art, worked, wandered, and tried to find her direction, her passion. One day her passion, quite unexpectedly, found her. She was at home and at loose ends. She picked up a knife and a scrap piece of wood just on a whim but when she touched the knife to the wood it was magic and she was suddenly transported back to the days when she had lived within her own imagination. She felt as if she'd come home. She began to create a world of whimsy that brought joy to all who had the eyes and heart to see it. The years have passed and there have been a few bumps and detours on the path she took that magical day so many years ago but she continues on her journey of creativity walking hand in hand and side by side with her husband, Steve, who aids and encourages her on this trek within a magical world all her own. I hope that you enjoy visiting her world. | ||||||

I did start carving quite by accident over twenty years ago. I've traveled all over the East coast of the US selling my wares and to a few points West of the mighty Mississippi. My work has also been sold in galleries all over the world and has won a few awards along the way. It has been a fantastic journey and I've met and continue to meet some really amazing people who have touched my life and heart with even brief encounters. As many of you know, I took a short hiatus, my "mid-life crisis" so to speak, a few years ago but I'm back working with my knife, chisel and block of wood once again and with renewed vigor. I also am leaping head first into several new ventures, graphic design and encaustic painting. You can view both at my other site, www.grayhorsedesigns.com.
